On behalf of the HELIOS consortium, we are pleased to welcome you to the third edition of our project newsletter. HELIOS is an EU-funded initiative supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, focused on reducing CO₂ emissions in power generation through advanced hydrogen combustion technologies.
The project brings together leading European institutions to enable low-NOx combustion of hydrogen-enriched fuels using the innovative FlameSheet technology from Thomassen Energy BV. This technology is designed to retrofit existing gas turbines, allowing high-hydrogen operation with minimal NOx emissions and producing only water as a by-product. Since the project started in March 2023, HELIOS has achieved several key milestones, including a successful first project review in November 2024.
