On March 24, 2026,the HELIOS team gathered in Eindhoven for the 7th General Assembly of the HELIOS project, hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology. This meeting marked an important moment as we enter the fourth and final year of the project. Together with our consortium partners, we reflected on the expected outcomes, assessed our progress, and outlined the key activities that still need to be completed to reach our goals.
We reviewed the results from the successful atmospheric test campaign at CENTRO COMBUSTIONE AMBIENTE S.R.L. (CCA, Italy) which has provided valuable data and strengthened our confidence in the technical direction of HELIOS. With these insights in hand, the consortium is now preparing for the second high-pressure test campaign at German Aerospace Center (DLR), planned for later this year—an essential step toward validating the technology under representative gas turbine conditions.
As we move into the final stretch, several important tasks remain: refining our numerical models, completing high-pressure validation, integrating results across work packages, and translating technical achievements into clear recommendations for future deployment. Nevertheless, the overall message is positive—we are firmly on track to achieve the ambitious targets set at the start of this project.
A big thank you to all partners for the constructive discussions and continued commitment. With one year to go, the momentum is strong—and the path forward is clear.
