On March 18-19, we held our fifth General Assembly meeting, hosted by Guido Stockhausen and Christian Fleing from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) team in Cologne, Germany. This in-person gathering brought together our project partners to discuss key developments in hydrogen-based gas turbines. It were productive days where we assessed our progress, shared valuable insights, and laid a solid foundation for the next phases of the project.
The HELIOS project focuses on developing hydrogen combustion technology as a retrofit solution based on Thomassen Energy BV’s FlameSheet™ combustor. By leveraging advanced numerical modeling, precise measurement techniques, and a deep understanding of hydrogen combustion, we aim to drive innovation in hydrogen-powered gas turbines.
Supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, our consortium includes Eindhoven University of Technology, Thomassen Energy BV, CENTRO COMBUSTIONE AMBIENTE S.R.L. , German Aerospace Center (DLR), and Delft University of Technology—all dedicated to accelerating the transition to clean energy solutions.
