The HELIOS consortium is delighted to share recent advancements in hydrogen combustion research within our network.
At the European Combustion Meeting in Edinburgh, PhD researcher Stijn Schepers (Eindhoven University of Technology) presented his work:
“FGM Modeling of Hydrogen Boundary Layer Flashback in a Turbulent Channel”, supervised by Prof J.A. van Oijen.
The study addresses a critical safety challenge in hydrogen combustion systems: flashback phenomena in turbulent boundary layers. By integrating Flamelet Generated Manifolds (FGM) with Large Eddy Simulations (LES), this research improves understanding of these complex interactions.
