Impressive update on hydrogen flashback

We’re excited to announce our latest results on flame flashback in hydrogen combustion, a crucial area for advancing sustainable energy. Our small-scale experimental study by Rafael Pichler at the Technical University of Delft leverages cutting-edge experimental data to understand and prevent flashbacks, to be avoided in hydrogen combustion systems. This video shows the flashback phenomena of a methane-hydrogen flame in a small-scale experiment. The outcome of this study lays the groundwork for use of these experimental data in numerical models and finally also at large-scale combustion applications, providing valuable insights that will enhance the safety and efficiency of hydrogen-powered technologies.

This research is a vital step towards scaling up to large-scale combustion applications, providing the insights needed to enhance the safety and efficiency of hydrogen energy technologies.  Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of sustainable energy solutions!
